Advancing Eye Health Through Innovation and Impact

Launching the Vision Awareness Device at IBA CED: A Step Towards Accessible Eye Health

The journey of innovation for community eye health took a significant step forward when Vision Healthcare Foundation (VHCF) introduced its latest initiative—the Vision Awareness Device (VAD)—at the IBA Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED).

At the launch, our CEO, Dr. M. Mazhar Awan, presented this purpose-driven innovation to an esteemed panel of judges and industry experts. The concept was met with appreciation, and VHCF was selected for the pre-incubation phase of the CED program. This recognition is not only a milestone for our team but also a vital step towards transforming an idea into a scalable social enterprise that can serve communities across Pakistan.

So, what makes the Vision Awareness Device so unique?

The VAD is a breakthrough solution designed to make eye health screening accessible, affordable, and reliable. Today, millions of people continue to suffer from preventable vision loss because early detection tools remain too costly, unavailable, or restricted to urban hospitals.

VAD changes this reality.

It is a portable and user-friendly device that enables screenings in schools, workplaces, rural communities, and primary healthcare centers. By identifying vision problems early, it empowers individuals to seek timely care, preserving sight and improving quality of life.

The transformation this device brings is far-reaching. For students, it means staying focused in classrooms without the burden of undetected vision issues. For workers, it ensures productivity and safety. For families in underserved areas, it provides access to a resource they never thought possible. Most importantly, it shifts the focus from treatment alone to awareness and prevention, creating a culture where people can take charge of their own eye health.

With the launch of the Vision Awareness Device at IBA CED, VHCF reaffirms its belief that every child, every teacher, every person—everywhere—should have the awareness and means to protect their sight.

This is not just a device; it is the beginning of a movement to make vision care inclusive, community-driven, and accessible to all.
